Restaurant Origin Story
Born and raised in Jamaica, I developed a passion for cooking at an early age, inspired by the island's rich culinary traditions. I earned a bronze medal in a regional culinary arts competition, which strengthened my dream of pursuing a career in food.
After moving to America, I worked in several restaurants, gaining valuable experience while refining my skills. I frequently cooked for friends and family, whose encouragement inspired me to start my own business.
In August 2019, I invested my personal savings to launch MSGCatering LLC, doing business as The Caribbean Stop. Our business was growing well until the pandemic created significant financial challenges. Despite those hardships, the unwavering support of my family, friends, and my remaining savings allowed us to keep our doors open.
Today, The Caribbean Stop continues to grow and serve authentic Jamaican cuisine to our community. However, limited access to traditional financing has slowed our growth. This grant would help us purchase essential supplies, meet increasing customer demand, and continue building a thriving business that proudly shares the flavors and culture of Jamaica with our community.

Oxtail meat is very tender. It not salty, but very flavorful. It pairs nicely with the plantains and rice&peas. Portion is great for the price. I would highly recommend. Great place for authentic Caribbean food so far everything I tried is 10/10.
